I am 63 and remember summer days walking a few blocks to the little mom and pop grocery store in my neighborhood in Tulsa with my friend or sisters to buy my Chum Gum. Dubble Bubble is still available in some areas. I grew up in Santa Ana, CA in the early 1960's. Remember how much of the penny candy and gum was unwrapped. I blew my first bubble with a stick of Chum Gum. I wonder what it would take for the bubble gum world powers to crank out some more of that wonderful tasting stuff? I chewed a 20-pack of Leaf Confectionery bubble gum (sour apple, sour grape, lemon etc) as a bet from my friends. I'm sure if I even smelled a stick I'd have involuntary visions of a bygone world populated by finned automobiles with sweeping lines and the calls of a street vendor yelling "Hot Tamales" -- as he pushed his cart down our street on a summer's evening -- ringing in my ears. I have ordered them by the pound, so I could get enough to last him a year at a time. This group of people said that they never heard of it so I told them to goggle it and maybe it would show up. While looking over newspaper microfilm in Kenosha, Wis., came across an ad by Topps Discount Store from October, 1970 (Halloween candy featured). Wish I could offer a better answer and havent seen this product in many years. There are a few random ones available on ebay, but thats it. So freaking sad. I have used Certs Peppermint breath mints since 1965. I used to go and buy them by the box. i was 3 yrs old and i remember stealing candy from the 7-11 and some of it was chum gum..
